ACDelco Offers Free Vehicle
Check Lane Inspections

BLANC, MICH., March
18/ – AC Delco is helping to promote National Car Care
Month by offering free vehicle check lane inspections, aimed at
educating consumers about the benefits of proper vehicle maintenance
and repair.
Drivers can have their tires,
fluids, filters, batteries, belts and hoses, wipers and other
automotive parts inspected by trained experts at the vehicle check
lanes. Any mechanical discrepancies found during the inspections
will be reported in writing to the vehicle owners, along with a list
of area Independent Service Centers for the parts and services they
might need.
GM To Recall Some 2000 - 2004
Pickups
DETROIT, March
18/- General Motors is recalling about 4 million 2000-2004
model-year full-size pickups worldwide to replace tailgate support
cables that may corrode and fracture.
The models involved are 2000-2004
Chevrolet Silverado's and GMC Sierra's built between October 1999
and October 2003. Also, some 2002-04 Chevrolet Avalanche and
Cadillac Escalade EXT trucks built between March 2001 and October
2003. In these models, GM will replace the existing galvanized,
braided steel support cables with stainless steel support cables.
These replacements will be performed at no cost to the customers.
There have been reports of 134 minor injuries
Motorola Makes Hands-Free Dialing Easier With a
new Aftermarket Integrated System With Bluetooth(R) Wireless
Technology
HANNOVER,
Germany, March 18/ -- Tech-savvy consumers will appreciate the new
in-vehicle system Motorola unveiled at CeBIT today.
The Integrated Hands-Free system will automatically connect
securely to a driver's Bluetooth enabled mobile phone, whether the
conversation was initiated before or after starting the vehicle, all
without wires or connections.
By incorporating advanced
voice recognition technology into the system, drivers have the
ability to simply speak the telephone number to which they would
like to be connected, and the technology will place the call on the
driver's behalf.
