Mohegan Sun Uses Hydrogen Car Powered by Anuvu Fuel Cell

SACRAMENTO, Calif., March 10 / -- A zero-emission fuel cell/battery hybrid engine from Anuvu Incorporated is powering a neighborhood electric vehicle developed for Mohegan Sun, one of the largest entertainment destinations in the US.

The fuel cell car, the first of its kind in New England, is a converted GEM (Global Electric Motorcars) vehicle. An Anuvu Power-X(TM) 3 kW PEM fuel cell powers the GE electric motor. Acceleration and braking are provided by a hybrid battery pack. The car will be used at Mohegan Sun as a passenger and lightweight transportation vehicle.

A New Race of Robots Has Seagate 'Driving' Behind the Wheel

BARSTOW, Calif., March 11 / -- Early on March 13, 2004, near Barstow, California, some of the most sophisticated land vehicles ever assembled will embark on a race across the Mojave Desert in the DARPA Grand Challenge. They have 10 hours to cover 210 miles of desert terrain and overcome the many barriers this rugged landscape presents. There will be no drivers, no mechanics, no human navigators. The winning team will receive a prize of $1 million.

This is the first race of its kind, and Seagate is playing a major role with the odds-on favorite Red Team, led by Carnegie Mellon University, and its robotic vehicle, Sandstorm.
