NTSA Extends Dual-Fuel Credit Through Model Year 2008

In an attempt to continue encouraging the development and sale of alternate-fuel-powered vehicles, the U.S. Department of Transportation had extended the incentive for dual-fueled vehicles, through model year 2008. The NTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) anticipates the extension will mean that manufacturers will produce more dual-fueled vehicles that will operate on ethanol, a domestic fuel, which will have the ultimate effect of reducing U.S. dependence on foreign oil.
