Chevrolet is Set to Party at
the 19th Annual Daytona Beach Motorsports Expo Feb. 11-13
DAYTONA
BEACH, Feb. 10/--The 19th Annual consumer and trade Show
includes new and highly customized vehicles Chevrolet, as well as
manufacturer’s displays, the Motorsports garage, and
engine-building contest a Playstation 2 Touring attraction, Barstool
Racing and NASCAR Driver signings.
It
all takes place Wednesday, February 11 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.;
Thursday, February 12 from 5-10 p.m. and Friday, February 13 from 10
a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Ocean Center: 101 North Atlantic Ave., Daytona
Beach, 32118.
Toyota Jumping into NASCAR with
Tundra Entry
TORRANCE,
Calif., Feb. 11/ -- Toyota is looking to garner both racing wins on
the NASCAR circuit and a larger portion of the lucrative pickup
truck market. Toyota's
historic entry into the racing ranks of NASCAR's Craftsman Truck
Series, which takes to the track for the first time Feb. 13 at
Daytona International Speedway, will include four race teams, seven
drivers and pit crews.
In
2003 Toyota accounted for about 11 percent of all vehicles sold in
the U.S., including America's most popular car, the Toyota Camry.
Toyota trucks, but for only about four percent of the total
large truck market.
2004 Philadelphia International Auto
Show Smokes Attendance Records
PHILADELPHIA,
Feb. 11/ -- Auto Shows are popular events, especially in Philly.
The Automobile Dealers Association of Greater Philadelphia (ADAGP)
today announced a record total of 279,854 show-goers to the 2004
Philadelphia International Auto Show making it the largest
attended show in Pennsylvania Convention Center history.
This record breaking total represents more show-goers than
any in the Auto Show's 102-year history and breaks the previous
record set in 2002 with 234,690 people.
The
Show also broke a Pennsylvania Convention Center record for
single-day attendance bringing in 57,060 show-goers on Saturday,
February 7.
Canadian International Auto
Show: Chrysler Group Begins Production of 2005 Chrysler 300 and
Dodge Magnum
TORONTO
and AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Feb. 11/ -- The Chrysler Group launched a
new phase of manufacturing at its Brampton (Ontario) Assembly Plant
to accommodate production of the all-new 2005 Chrysler 300 and Dodge
Magnum, the company's family of rear-wheel drive sedans.
"Our
manufacturing operations in Canada are a significant part of our
product offensive this year," said Wolfgang Bernhard, Chrysler
Group Chief Operating Officer, from the Canadian International Auto
Show in Toronto. "Three
of the nine products being launched are made in Canada, accounting
for almost two-thirds of the total expected volume for those
products."
