DaimlerChrysler, Intier won the contract for its innovative seating
solution, called Stow ‘n Go, following a design competition

Auto Theft Declining Steadily
in Michigan; Detroit Auto Thefts Fall For Sixth Year in a Row
LIVONIA,
Mich., Feb. 4/ -- A coalition of insurance companies, law
enforcement and residents known a HEAT (Help Eliminate Auto
Thefts)is having a dramatic impact on car thefts in the state. The
HEAT program encourages action through a confidential, toll-free
auto theft tip line (1-800-242-HEAT) that
provides financial rewards for people who provide information
leading to the arrest and prosecution of individuals for auto theft,
carjacking and chop shops.
From 2001 to 2002, auto
thefts in Michigan declined 5.85 percent, compared with a nationwide
increase of 1.60 percent. The City of Detroit saw auto thefts
decline from about 2 percent for the same period.
