GEM Takes Top Spot In Electric Vehicle Market LOS
ANGELES, Feb. 3/ -- Global Electric Motorcars, LLC, begins its
seventh year in business as the top manufacturer or electric
vehicles at a time when the market for these vehicles continues its
strong growth. The company, part of
DaimlerChrysler is the maker of GEM neighborhood electric vehicles,
which are street-legal in most states where they can be driven on
roadways posted up to 35 mph. The
vehicles have a top speed of 25 mph and meet all safety standards
established by the Federal government.
About 28,000 GEMs are in use across the United States and
internationally, with California being the top market. MSN
and Lexus to Continue Co-Branded Website REDMOND,
Wash., Feb. 4/ -- MSN and Lexus today announced the renewal of their
co-branded Web site, Lexus.MSN.com, for another year. Embracing
the growth of broadband and the online audience's desire for richer
content, Lexus.MSN.com will offer users a broader experience with
streaming video segments and stories complementing its luxury
lifestyle content. Additional editorial content includes a new
Luxury Travel and Luxury Shopping area for users to explore. The
site, which delivers upscale, professional and lifestyle content as
well as information on Lexus vehicles, has proved hugely successful
since its launch in February 2003, attracting 8 million unique
visitors through December. Toyota
Reports Best-Ever January Sales TORRANCE,
Calif., Feb. 3/ -- Toyota Motor Sales reported best-ever January
sales up 15.8 percent over the same period last year.
Toyota Division reported record-breaking January sales of
123,895, up 15.3 percent over the same period a year ago.
The Lexus Division enjoyed its best-ever January with sales
up 19.1 percent from last year. The
Camry was the sales leader up 9.4 percent; the Corolla, which adds
an XRS model this spring, posted sales that were up 12.0 percent
over last January and Prius, the "2004 North American Car of
the Year," reported best-ever January sales that were up 75.1
percent over last year. 'Miller
Bike,' Featured on American Chopper, Celebrates Miller Electric's
75th Anniversary APPLETON,
Wis., Feb. 3/ -- To help commemorate the 75th anniversary of welding
leader Miller Electric Mfg. Co.
Orange County Choppers designed and built the "Miller
Bike." The 75th anniversary Miller chopper embodies a patriotic
"Welding America" theme, sporting red, white and blue
colors and features a welding helmet
morphing out of the gas tank. The
Miller Bike will be featured on the Discovery Channel’ American
Chopper series on February 9th and 16th. Miller is the only manufacturer that builds all its arc welders and plasma cutters in the United States. An estimated five to seven million Americans weld professionally or as a hobby.
