Buy A Car, Get a Free
Computer!
Detroit, MI – (September
5, 2003) Targeting the
younger Saturn buyers, Saturn and Dell are teaming up to offer
consumers an easy and hassle-free way to have the newest technology
through the purchase of a new 2003 Saturn. Under the "Buy a
Saturn, Get a Dell" program sponsored by Saturn, U.S. consumers
who purchase or lease any new 2003 Saturn between September 5
through 30 will receive a certificate for a Dell Dimension 2400 home
computer system.
"Our research reveals
a strong relationship exists between the younger Saturn
buyer and their use of, and desire for, the latest
technology," said Jill Lajdziak, Saturn's vice president for
sales, service and marketing. "At Saturn, we believe our
success is dependent on building customer enthusiasm and this is
another innovative way to exceed expectations at the beginning of
the ownership experience, right in time for back-to-school."
Already have a computer? Get a new one and donate your old one to charity. Those
consumers who already own a computer or decide they do not need the
new system, are being asked to donate any working Pentium 133 or
faster computer system to the National Cristina Foundation (NCF), a
public charity dedicated to helping individuals with disabilities,
students at risk and the economically disadvantaged an opportunity
to lead more independent and productive lives through computer
technology and training.
During the September
program-period, customers who purchase any new 2003 Saturn ION,
L-Series or VUE sport-utility will be provided a certificate
redeemable for the Dell Dimension 2400 desktop computer, the
company's most popular system. The computer offer can be combined
with other current Saturn incentives.
The "Buy a Saturn,
Get a Dell" program includes a Dell(tm) Dimension(tm) 2400 with
Intel® Celeron processor at 2.2GHz, a 128MB shared DDR SDRAM at
333MHz, 15-in, E151 flat panel display, 40GB value hard drive,
Microsoft(r) Windows® XP Home Edition, Integrated 10/100 Ethernet
55K2 PCI Data Fax Modem, 48X CD-ROM Drive, Integrated ADI 1885 Audio
and Altec Lansing ADA215 Speakers, Word Perfect Productivity Pack
and one year at-home service. Together, the estimated retail value
of the system is about $800. Customers will have an option to
purchase upgrades.
For consumers interested in making a
tax-deductible donation of their used computer equipment, Dell
offers the ability to register online for a convenient and
affordable home pick-up of working computers that meet the NCF's
minimum Pentium 133 or faster technical requirement. Additional
information can be found at www.dell4me.com/recycling.
And donation of the new computer system is as easy as notifying the
Dell fulfillment center when ordering the computer.
